From 2007 to 2009, I worked with runners from around the country to raise over $12,000 for the Lupus Foundation of America. Then I took a break. In 2010, my mother was diagnosed with colon cancer so I restarted this blog to raise money for the American Cancer Society at a 2011 Relay for Life event. Right now I'm just running. No particular goal or training plan, just putting in the miles when I can and putting in the occasional blog post when I can.

Official Results

The official results from the race are posted. Check them out here.

I placed 28th out of 66. Not bad! That's in the top half. My official time, captured perfectly in the photo, was 9:30:24.

Note that the total of 66 runners is the people who FINISHED the full 50 miles within the allowed time of 12 hours and 30 minutes. I applaud them all, including the one who finished at 12:24:26. In fact, I think everyone with the courage to try a race like this deserves a great deal of credit. Finishing 28th is a fantastic achievement!

I'd still be lying somewhere in the middle of the trail begging for a ride...

I think I promised your mom I'd post the dragonboat photos on Multiply. I'll get around to it, honest!!

That's still amazing you ran 50 miles... I'd peter out at the first 5 km. :)
